DSC Awards 70 Female Players of Dubai Clubs

The Woman’s Sports Committee of Dubai Sports Council awarded 70 female players from Dubai clubs in the final sports season ceremony 2016 – 2017. The ceremony was held last week at DSC’s premises in Dubai Design District, in the presence of H.E. Moza Al-Marri, the Board Member of DSC & Chairwoman of the Woman’s Sports Committee.  The ceremony was also arranged in the presence of Ms. Lamya Khan, the Deputy Chairwoman of the Woman’s Sports Committee of DSC & Manager of Dubai Ladies Club / Ms. Maitha Al-Shamsi, the Member of Woman’s Sports Committee & CEO of the Human Rights Sector in the Community Development Authority / SheikhaShamsaBint Hasher Al-Maktoum, Supervisor of Woman’s Sport in Al-Wasl Sports Club.  Ladies teams in Dubai clubs have attained several achievements in the various sports games during the last sports season.

In this context, Al-Wasl Club got title of Ladies Volleyball League, gained 1st place in Ladies Volleyball Cup & came 3rd in Girls Volleyball Competition / Al-Shabab Club got 1st place in three competitions; these are: U 15 Sharjah Fencing, Girls Volleyball Competition & U 15 Dubai Fencing / Al-Nasr Club gained title of the Ladies Basketball League and Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Cup in the sports season 2016 – 2017.

H.E. Moza Al-Marri welcomed attendees and congratulated all those who have attained achievements in the various sports games. She appreciated the eminent role of clubs which are keen to provide all factors of success for female players, so that they may attain sports excellence and gain titles, referring that the ceremony reflects DSC’s keenness to celebrate female players’ efforts & remarkable achievements.

H.E. Moza Al-Marri& Ms. Maitha Al-Shamsi invited ladies of clubs to participate in a pioneering initiative under title “Your Charity is Delivered”; focusing on several charity opportunities and boosting social adherence during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The initiative is classified into two parts, the first of which is under title “We Provide Sahour Meal”; distributing late supper meal of Ramadan. This part of the initiative is organized by the Community Development Authority’s youth on Sunday 18th June 2017 at 10:00 pm in Al-Quoz.

The second part of the initiative is under title “We Provide Eid Garments”; distributing garments among chaste families on the occasion of Eid.  H.E. Moza Al-Marri stated: “In the first stage of the initiative (under title We Provide Sahour Meal), late supper meals of Ramadan are distributed among chaste families in collaboration with group of partners from the private sector.

This part of the initiative targets to make community aware of the importance of Sahour”. She added: “The initiative presents vital role in community and focuses on services & assistance, to be provided by youth council and others to bring joy for individuals. Accordingly, in the second stage of the initiative, Eid Garments are distributed to bring joy among chaste families and boost harmony & love among the various classes of society”. Several parties collaborate with the Community Development Authority’s Youth in organizing “Your Charity is Delivered Initiative”; these are: Al-Abbar Jewelry, Dubai Youth Council, Bin Hader Group, 1971 Team, Bait Al-Khair Society and Dubai Voluntary Program.
