Some of the most exciting jiu-jitsu players from across the globe and especially in the Middle East are descending in Abu Dhabi to perform at the fourth leg of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour, which is set to take place in Abu Dhabi on 12 and 13 January at the Mubadala Arena, Zayed Sports City.

Commenting on the upcoming event, H.E Abdulmunem Al Hashemi, Chairman of UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, President of Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union & Senior Vice President of Jiu-Jitsu International Federation said, “I would like to thank our sponsors: Mubadala Investment Company, Abu Dhabi Media, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Palm Sports. Strategic partnerships are really important to take a product and propel it towards sustainability.”

Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Abu Dhabi will be broadcasted live on Abu Dhabi Sports in the UAE & MENA region, Combate and SporTV in Brazil, FloGrappling worldwide stream, FOX Sports in Asia, Fight Network in Canada, Europe and MENA regions, Astro in Malaysia, Starhub in Singapore, ABS-CBN Sports in Philippines, Orange TV in Indonesia, SCTV in Vietnam, Singtel in Singapore and Australia, Super Sport and Azam Sports in Africa, Fight Sports in the Caribbean, North America and Europe regions and on delayed telecast on Dubai Sports and Sharjah Sports.

Igor Silva, Black belt world champion, who is competing in the 110kg Adult category, said, “It’s good to have the Grand Slam come to the home of Jiu-Jitsu. I’ve trained well without injuries with my ‘commando group’ teammates. We did well at the Grand Slam in Rio, we are hoping to finish in the top three as a team in Abu Dhabi, so I think this one will be one of the best of the season, see you all at the Mubadala Arena on 12th and 13th January ”

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi will begin at 14:00pm until 19:00pm (Abu Dhabi standard time) on 12th January and from 10:00am until 18:00pm on 13th January at the Mubadala Arena, Zayed Sports City.
