Barcelona will turn to their plan B option of Angel Di Maria and Jean Michael Seri after hitting a dead end in pursuits of Philippe Coutinho and OusmaneDembele.

The Spanish giants are running out of time to secure their top targets, with the transfer window set to slam shut in just under a week’s time.

Barca had been hoping to wrap up deals for Coutinho and Dembele and have both players unveiled to the fans, but the set-backs issued by Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund now means other options must be pursued.

Barcelona has since signed OusmaneDembele from BVB and now focusing their efforts to sign Coutinho. If not in this transfer window, then the winter transfer window in January.

The Catalan side will now target former Real Madrid man Di Maria as the solution to their vacant spot in the front three, while Nice’s Seri is wanted to fill a deeper midfield berth, according to reports in Spain.

SPORT newspaper stated that negotiations for the pair have resumed, suggesting Barca had already earmarked both players as targets should deals for the main pairing does not come to fruition.

The same reports speaks of the complications in the potential deal for Coutinho, with the efforts being stopped dead in their tracks by Liverpool’s recent immediate rejection of a bid worth €130million.

The huge £114m bid included a further £5m in add-ons, which was instantly rejected by the Anfield club.

JurgenKlopp’s side are refusing to budge, despite the 25-year-old formally submitting a transfer request last week, after seeing the bidding rise from £72m to £90m and now move past the £100m mark.
