Al Dhafra Defeats Sharjah At Home With Two Penalties

In an exciting game where two first-half penalty kicks helped Al Dhafra to a 2-0 home win over Sharjah in match week 2 of the Arabian Gulf League at Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium, took Al Dhafra to four points from two games while Sharjah stays at one point from two games.

The hosts got off to a flying start with just 60 seconds, MohanadKarrar had beaten his marker to get on the end of an AdilHermach pass, the Iraqi striker rounded Sharjah goalkeeper Ahmed Juma but the latter brought him down inside the box and a penalty kick was awarded for Al Dhafra. Ahmed Al Abri converted from the spot to give the Western Knights an early lead.

 

In the 29th minute, Al Abri was tripped by Sharjah defender Ali Al Dhanhani leading to a second Al Dhafra spot-kick. Brazilian striker Ailton Almeida stepped up and converted calmly from the spot.
