Faisal Al Raisi is a defensive right-back who joined Ramsbottom United FC in the summer of 2019 after turning down a professional contract from Tanzanian Premier League club – African Lyon FC.

Al Raisi, a versatile, strong and quick defender who’s composed on the ball with great crossing ability. Born and raised in Al-Ain, a city in the United Arab Emirates, which is home to one of the top Asian football clubs’ in Asia, Al-Ain Football Club. Al Raisi represented Al-Ain FC at U14 and U16 youth levels and has been on trials with several professional football clubs in the Middle East and turned down a professional contract from African Lyon FC before making the decision to move to England with the aim to break into the British football leagues.

He currently plays for the Northern Premier League club (One North West), Ramsbottom United. During his time in England, Al Raisi has made huge strides and progressed among the ranks with Barnet FC, AFC Fylde and Curzon Ashton FC.

“He is a very flexible player who can play multiple positions including midfield and also as a winger. Although Faisal is playing at a semi-professional level, but if he puts his head down, works hard everyday, he will break into the professional leagues soon enough.”

He’s not just a defender

Although Al Raisi will certainly need to bulk up if he is to shine in the Championship or Scottish Premier League, the youngster isn’t afraid to put his body on the line to recover possession. He started his youth career as striker and then attacking midfielder before moving to he’s current position of high-back

He is by no means Ashley Cole, but he will never shirk from the physical side of the game and will do his utmost to win the ball back for his team. The Ramsbottom faithful will relish a player who gives his all for the team and isn’t afraid to show passion on the pitch.
